Ispire Daab - Northern Lights

An e-Rig Expert’s Take on One of the Newest Models Available

Daab eRig

Ispire is seriously mocking Dr. Dabber with the Daab. Like the Switch, the Daab is induction-heated via a titanium band around its quartz-glass concentrate cup—no exposed heating elements to burn yourself on, no weird flavors from heating your concentrates on wire-wrapped quartz coils. And since it’s an e-rig with full temp control, it’s very difficult to accidentally fry or burn your product.

One of the main reasons to use concentrates is to experience the amazing variety of terpene flavor profiles unique to each strain (or batch, if you’re a true connoisseur who can tell the difference). Again, unlike Puffco (the lowest setting on any Puffco product will destroy certain more delicate terpenes), Ispire has you covered in this domain. The Daab has the largest temperature range of any e-rig on the market (250°–800°F)—no “preset temp range” bullshit here! Your selected temperature is displayed on an OLED screen, along with a “concentrate” symbol (making this e-rig enthusiast think they’ll be releasing a flower cup for the Daab sometime this year!), and the current charge level, of course.

Speaking of charge, the Daab comes with a charging cable that lets you charge its battery, but I should say batteries plural, because this tasty piece of tech runs on dual 18650s (standard mod vape batteries). So if you own a box mod, you may never even need to plug your Daab in to charge! In fact, the charger that came with my Astro Edition never left the case.

I could add as a side note: It seems at least some of the six available Daab editions—oh yeah, I haven’t yet mentioned that I believe 5/6 (if not all 6) of the available Daab rigs are limited editions, with varying production runs of each, created and distributed among select vendors. As I was saying, some editions have added special visual features. For example, the Astro Edition features a glow-in-the-dark set of white constellations (glow is green) printed on the grip for the e-rig. It’s well printed too, so it’s not just something that rubs off. Other editions have unique silicone colors for the joints that are black on the Astro and black models.

I’ve tried a huge number of e-rigs and concentrate vaporizers, from the relatively cheap Yocan Pocket to the most expensive Dr. Dabber Switch (the original one, back when they cost $700) and many in between. Ispire’s new Daab e-rig blows them all out of the water in terms of price point, flavor, temperature flexibility, ease of use, and cleaning difficulty. It’s easily the best e-rig to hit the market in the past decade; try it and tell me I’m wrong!

These are some pictures I took showcasing the unique features of the Astro Edition (Left in light, Right in dark) and the Northern Lights Edition (Top picture) with its unique silicone and grip. I don’t remember if the functioning lights (the perc-stem pulses purple -lit from below- when heating and stays solid when at temp) differ between the models.
