Canna Chef | Cannabis Infused Whipping Cream

The first time my mom showed me how to make homemade whipped cream, I was awestruck at how simple it was. I never would have guessed you literally just whip cream!

Many don’t know but this recipe can easily be modified by adding cinnamon, removing the sugar, adding basil, or a myriad of other options. My personal favorite alteration is to use a tablespoon of maple syrup instead of powdered sugar!

When creating cannabis whipping cream, you can choose which form of cannabis you’d like to use. I tend to use rosin to cook with so I don’t have to strain plant material. If you do have flower, you can just cook it in the cream and strain the plant material by using cheesecloth.

Materials

Double Boiler
Large Bowl
Electric Mixer
1 cup Heavy Cream or Whipping Cream
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1 tablespoon Powdered Sugar (or Maple Syrup)

Combine your cannabis and cream in the double boiler. Let it cook for two hours, stirring regularly. Remove it from heat and let cool. Transfer cream to the large bowl, cover with a lid or plastic wrap and refrigerate until fully cold again. Use an electric mixer to beat the cream for a few minutes, until it starts to thicken. Slowly beat in the sugar, vanilla, and any optional ingredients you’ve decided on. Once medium to stiff peaks form, your finished. Be sure not to over beat. It’s best when you spoon some on pie, eat it with strawberries, or mix in your coffee. Enjoy!

Tips

If you don’t have a double boiler, you can substitute with a coffee machines hot plate, and a small heat-safe bowl.

You can whisk this by hand, but do yourself a favor and use an electric mixer. Doing it by hand is exhausting!
